St. Regis Hotel Resort

This incredible hotel/resort is owned by Deer Crest Associates I, LLC and managed by Starwood’s St. Regis brand. The St. Regis Resort & Residences, Deer Crest, began construction in summer of 2005, and is projected to open for the winter season of 2008/2009. The funicular base will be adjacent to Deer Valley’s Snow Park Lodge and the main hotel and residences will be uphill in Roosevelt Gap on the Deer Hollow ski run. The Resort & Residences offers 26 private residences and 65 condominium suites. The St. Regis, Deer Crest, will contain amenities including a martini bar, an après ski bar, two pools, gift shop, fitness facility, main restaurant, meeting rooms and a 30,000-square-foot spa. ES2 completed the Structural Steel Detailing on the low and high roof as well as the stairs and handrails.
Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Station #47
Las Vegas, NV, USA - 2007
The Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Station #47 is an 11,000 square foot fire station built to help enhance public safety. The design of the project was aesthetically completed for the community in which the fire station is located and the building was constructed from masonry block and open web steel joists. Southwest Contractors awarded this project the Best of 2007 Nevada Awards for Public Projects under $10 million.
Trapper’s Inn

The INL-ESL project is under construction! Located on University Blvd in Idaho Falls, this Energy Systems Lab facility for the Idaho National Laboratory is a combination meeting center, office building, and laboratory engineered completely by ES2 (SMEP). The two large high bay lab spaces have been erected and work is beginning on the Battery Lab module. There is lots of structural and underground electrical being installed right now. This project is targeting a LEED Gold Certification and all of the design credits have been submitted for review

The structure itself includes steel framed members in order to facilitate large open spans, and contains braced and moment frames in order to resist the lateral loads that the structure will foresee. The estimated weight of steel for this structure is around 160 tons.

This beautiful four-story health care facility consists of approximately 130,000 square feet between the four floors. This health care facility was built to further assist the growing population of Logan, UT. The new Women’s Medical Center is an addition to the existing Logan Regional Hospital. The estimated weight of steel on this structure is projected to be 650 tons.
Daybreak Corporate Center

Daybreak Corporate Center is being constructed as a multi-tenant, Class-A office building. Daybreak Corporate Center is the first phase of the larger mixed-use Village Center that will include unique retail and restaurant groups, multiple office locations, and upscale high-density residential housing. Daybreak Corporate Center is a three-story 175,000 square foot Class-A office building with an attached structured parking deck. The estimated weight of steel on this structure is projected to be 800 tons.

This civil structure was built to facilitate the drainage that occurs in the city of Las Vegas, NV. This drainage will be routed through concrete channels, and bridges for the city of Henderson and its outskirts. The facility encapsulates 7,177 linear feet of 40 foot to 52 foot x 10 foot to 15 foot maximum channel with a 8 foot x 5 foot reinforced concrete box junction, and (2) 8 foot x 4 foot reinforced concrete boxes. Included in this civil structure is a 120 foot x 70 foot energy dissipation structure.
South Edge Storm Drainage Structures

This civil structure was built to facilitate the drainage that occurs in the city of Henderson, NV. This drainage will be routed through concrete culverts, arches and channels for the city of Henderson and its outskirts. The facility encapsulates 21,691 linear feet of rectangular channel varying from 7’ to 50’ wide, 6,637 linear feet of 20’ to 25’ wide low flow channel, 8,361 linear feet of 8’ to 28’ span arch culvert, 2,157 linear feet of 9.5’ to 40’ span reinforced concrete boxes, and 1 headwork’s structure.

This civil structure was built to facilitate the drainage that occurs in the city of Las Vegas, NV. This drainage will be routed through concrete culverts, arches and channels for the city of Las Vegas and its outskirts. The facility encapsulates 991 linear feet of 11 feet to 16 feet of span Arch, 739 linear feet of 24 foot x 7 foot Arch, 1115 linear feet of (2) 24 foot x 7 foot Arches, 1009 linear feet of Collector Channels, 170 linear feet of (3) 12 foot x 4 foot Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) Box Culverts and finally 107 linear feet of (2) 12 foot x 4 foot NDOT Box Culvert.

This is a gorgeous 7,500 square foot; two-story wood framed custom residence. Included with the design of this custom residence is a 14 foot long concrete pedestrian bridge with 594 square feet for the garage, and an additional 731 square feet for a detached garage. This structure is constructed out of conventional wood framed walls with prefabricated wood roof trusses.
Boskovich Residence

A truly impressive three-story, 9,000 square foot residence located in beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho. Stick framed construction allows for a third level without encroaching the height limitations for the area. The structural design involved accounting for full height 8" thick stone veneer along with high snow loading. The residence is mostly constructed of wood framing with some steel beams which provided the open spaces requested by the owner.
Trail Creek Crossing

The Trail Creek Crossing project is a mixed use development encompassing over 6 acres of at the corner of Pole Canyon Road and Center Street in Victor, Idaho. The site is zoned for Central Business and Business purposes, which allows a master plan incorporating residential lofts, commercial office, retail and warehouse space. The development itself will be mixed use facility including a (1) three-story building and (2) two-story buildings on the property, with a total estimated area of 140,000 square feet. Phase 1 of this project consists of the first level is set apart retail tenants (20,500 square feet). The second level is set apart for future office space tenants (18,200 square feet). The third level is built out residential condominiums (14,300 square feet).

Hopkins Bay is a resort development comprised of beach houses, triplexes, a restaurant, and multi-unit systems. The buildings are composed of concrete building structure with precast concrete floor system, concrete beams, and headers. Buildings structure is built on 45 foot precast concrete piles. The roof system consists of concrete beams and joists with wood framed sections. Lateral Force Resisting System consists of concrete moment frames. Focus on Increased Energy Efficiency to Counter High Local Utility Costs ($0.30/kwh).

Alpine Village is a mixed-use real estate development in the heart of downtown McCall, Idaho. The project includes approximately 36,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and office space and more than 100 residential condominiums – all anchored by a lively pedestrian plaza. Condo owners will enjoy Idaho resort amenities such as an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, exercise facility, steam room and sauna, garden courtyard and a clubhouse lounge. This structure will be built out of a combination of structural steel and wood framing. ES2 provided the structural, mechanical, and electrical design for Phase 1 of this project.

Elkhorn Springs is a mixed use development that has it all – golf, tennis, swimming, hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing. This development consists of restaurants that overlook the ponds, a country store that offers groceries, news, sports rentals, coffee bar, a café, and residential suites including condominiums and penthouses. This development consists of multiple structures including a five-story multi-family residence supported by elevated post-tensioned slab with a parking garage below. These structures are laterally supported by light gauge metal stud shear walls.

34 Buildings, composed of 14 various apartment-type buildings, garage structures, cabanas and a clubhouse, make up this multi-family residential community. With approximately 333,600 square feet under structure for all buildings located at this project, the community offers 312 rental units. Construction is conventionally framed wood bearing walls with prefabricated metal plate connected wood trusses and slab on grade foundations.

To meet the ever increasing need for multi-family units, the apartments located at Cheyenne and Jones in Las Vegas, NV, bring an additional 161 rental units to the Las Vegas area and were designed with conventionally framed, wood-bearing walls and prefabricated metal plate connected wood trusses with slab-on-grade foundations. The project totals approximately 210,500 square feet under structure, made up of 12 buildings, one clubhouse and three cabanas.

This multi-family complex incorporates 30 buildings, including cabanas and a clubhouse, into a residential area offering more than 425 apartment rental units. The overall square footage under structure is approximately 566,800 sq. ft. with 542,900 sq. ft. comprising the (24) apartment buildings designed within the project. Conventionally framed wood bearing walls with prefabricated metal plate connected wood trusses and slab on grade foundations make up the construction designed for this project.

This complex located in the heart of Idaho Falls, ID hosts numerous of Summer Baseball leagues beyond that of the Chukars.
NASCAR Race Track Tower

NASCAR is experiencing extensive growth as the sport becomes more popular. Due to the extensive growth of the sport, additional facilities need to be designed. The four story, 25,060 square foot tower, is comprised of balcony seating, press boxes, offices, suites, concessions and a restaurant combine to create an attractive new NASCAR facility. Additional designed structures include the racetrack, tunnel, and ticket booth. The estimated construction cost for this facility is $30 million.
Sun Valley Music Pavilion

Inspired by the world’s greatest concert stages, the 3,000 square foot stage outdoor covered amphitheatre will easily accommodate the Symphony’s 100-piece orchestra, backed by choral risers. This covered amphitheater will seat roughly 1500 seats under the canopy structure while allowing spectacular views to the stage from the grass areas located outside the canopy structure. The construction cost for this elegant project will be roughly around $15 Million dollars. This design-build project was literally designed as it was built. The architect and contractor were constantly making changes to make sure the facility was perfect.

Maumee Indoor Water Park—Holiday Inn

Inside and out, nothing conveys the excitement of a hotel water park better than a dome. This unique two-story 23,515 square foot indoor water park features a 150 foot x 100 foot free spanning elliptical dome. This free spanning elliptical dome is unique because the thin shell concrete dome structurally supports all slides and stair towers.
Blue Diamond Ranch Center

This project involved the design of the two major retail buildings located in the complex in southwestern Las Vegas. Major B is a single-story retail building with approximately 8,000 square feet under structure and the combining of Major C and D into one retail area added an additional 12,150 square feet to the project. The buildings were designed for exterior masonry bearing walls with open-web, steel joists supporting a steel roof deck, and spread footings with slab-on-grade floor.

This development consists of (3) one-story, and (1) two-story retail buildings. These retail buildings consist 10,260, 6,100, 11,175, and 8,100 square foot buildings. The structures were designed with a combination of conventional wood framed walls with prefabricated wood roof trusses as well as steel framed floors on the two story retail building. Moment frames were used to resist the lateral forces.

Inspired by a former professional basketball player, Chris Weber, the design of this 8,000 square foot, one-story basketball-themed restaurant creates an environment where the sport of basketball is brought to life. The wood framed design of this facility includes a 36’ diameter dome constructed with arched glulam beams framed between structural steel tension and compression rings supported at the roof by an octagonal structural steel skeleton frame.
A tribute to the best-of-the-best, Center Court with C-Webb captures all of the magic of live basketball with memorabilia in this family sports-concept restaurant. Families will enjoy quality food and exceptional service while sitting “center court” in a realistic rendering of a basketball arena.

The Hotel Indigo project consists of the structural engineering of a four-story, 180 unit hotel with a freestanding porte-cochere and a 5,000 square foot, single-story stand alone restaurant structure. Comprising approximately 110,000 square feet under structure, the wood-framed hotel with prefabricated wood trusses and wood structural panel shear walls also required the design of a podium slab and support columns for the second level above the lobby, guest services area, and above the courtyard near the restaurant.

The hotel is built as a wood-framed structure with beams and columns to support the vertical loads and is laterally braced by a Seismic Solutions Quake Tie holdown system.

This two-story office building consists of approximately 75,000 square feet under structure. The design utilizes structural steel framing with a floor framing system of steel with concrete over steel deck and a roof design which specified a steel deck system.
