Structural Steel Detailing

The ES² structural steel detailing division has over 50 years of structural steel detailing experience with an in-depth knowledge of fabrication and erection practices. The use one of the best detailing software packages available, Design Data's SDS/2. This highly specialized program uses full and true 3D modeling which allows for the creation of shop drawings and complete CNC information that can be sent directly to the fabricators beam line.

Combining structural engineering with steel detailing under one roof is very effective in the design phase because the steel detailers know exactly what they will be receiving from the structural engineer, and the structural engineer already has feedback from the steel detailing regarding building and connection design. This process can save months of scheduled time on a project because all the requests for information (RFIs) have been answered even before detailing begins. When structural engineering is combined with in-house detailing, project accuracy improves; this reliabilty yields a more accurate bid from project contractors.
